Cheating in America
Finally tonight: cheating in America and why it's impossible to know in whom to
trust anymore.
It's getting hard to hang onto a hero these days. You pick one in the batter's
box and then with a broken bat he busts your dreams down to a controversy over
cork.
You give your heart to a homemaker who's then accused in an open indictment of
trading your trust in an inside deal.
You pledge your allegiance to a president whose indiscretion with an intern
robbed us all of our respect for the office. And now his wife's got a tell-all
"boo-hoo" book primed for big profits by soliciting our sympathy because she was
lied to.
Get in line.
The list goes on. Wall Street wizards are selling worthless shares, CEO's are
cooking the books, etc., etc., etc. It seems no matter in whom you invest your
trust the payoff is pain, disappointment and heartbreak.
We could of course, take a cue from our cash. In God we trust, it all says.
With no one else working out, maybe we should give Him a try.
