Government and the Church
Finally tonight: the Government and the Church and why Christian candidates
who claim to have Christ in their heart but not in their politics are
either liars or fools.
There is a raging debate over whether Christian politicians should leave
Christ at the door when they step into office.
The constitutional separation of Church and State is arguable, but the
Bible is explicitly clear that the Christian cannot be separated from
Christ.
Followers of Christ are to use their lives to reflect his character,
their speech to proclaim his gospel and present their bodies as a living
sacrifice to him.
Christians are called to filter their thoughts through the mind of Christ
and not only to believe but to act on that belief; to be doers of the
word of God and not just hearers.
Whether this is proper for a politician may be arguable but it is required
of every Christian whether they enter politics or not.
Christian candidates who claim Christ has no place in their politics
are either lying about what they believe or foolish enough to abandon
it for political gain.
And from either liar or fool, you'll never get good government.
