Homosexual Marriage
Finally tonight: homosexual marriage and why I find myself positioned between a
pope and a president.
Both men have taken a bold step out onto a limb that some very powerful lobbies
in this country wish they could lop right off. In a world where Christian beliefs
are branded as homophobic and any disapproval is declared intolerance, these men
upholding their beliefs and expressing disapproval of homosexuals being allowed to
marry is going to bring the heat.
All I know is that the courage of conviction has to have a basis and I'm tired
of being told that the only book that can't be that basis is the Bible. The Bible
declares marriage to be a covenant created by God for a man and a woman. The
scriptures say it, Christ confirmed it and Bible believers simply believe it
even though lawmakers may not agree with it.
That we live in a diverse nation means we all have to put up with more than we
care to, but none of us have to like it. Tolerance is not approval and it's time
we learned the difference.
