Eternal Life
Finally tonight: the promise of eternal life and why, for those who believe, it
completely removes the sting of death.
As families and friends mourn the loss of their loved ones, we mourn with them.
As they cry tears of sadness for the company they can no longer keep, our hearts
are touched and we may weep as well. The pain of missing a loved one's
irreplaceable presence is hard to bear.
But to those who would believe, the pain of death was swallowed up in a promise
made 2,000 years ago. It was a promise made of what would be and was backed up by
what was empty. The promise is that Jesus Christ has conquered death and the grave
for eternity and it was backed up by His empty tomb.
Many choose not to believe the tomb was empty, that Christ is risen, or that in
Him is eternal life. But for those who do, death's sting has been removed.
