Network Programming
Finally tonight: network programming and why the key to
getting what you want is to stop wanting what you're getting.
A lot of people like myself are fed up with the poison being served our minds,
our families and our society on network television. Often you've heard me railing
against the steady stream of filth, profanity, sexual confusion and immorality,
nudity and family dysfunction presented as normality, that we now call prime time
entertainment.
Recently a friend of mine was sharply rebuked when he
tried to share his feelings of disgust for what one of his once favorite shows had
resorted to as a story line. He sent an e-mail to the network's website and got a
stinging reply that basically told him to take his morals and go jump off a
cliff.
He should've known better. Networks don't care about what you don't like; they
only care about what you don't watch. For objectionable programming to actually
start going away, more people would have to actually object with their remotes.
If there really is a moral majority, it's time they stopped complaining about
what's on and started turning it off.
