Finally tonight: prayer and why the key is making sure that what you want from God is what He wants for you.

A lot of people are praying these days and yet a lot of them are confused about why they should pray, what to pray for, and why they don't seem to get the answers they were looking for.

The Bible says there are two basic reasons why believers don't get what they want from God. The first is simply because we don't ask. Even though the Lord Jesus Christ promised that our Heavenly Father knows what we need even before we ask, you're just not going to get some of it until you ask. Praying is asking.

But the other problem is that we often ask amiss. That is, we ask for the wrong things or at the wrong time, or for the wrong reasons. Like most children, we don't know as well as our Father what's really good for us.

This is why I pray for all I want from God, but all I ever want to get is what He wants for me.
